Today is the 35th anniversary of the military coup in Chile that
overthrew the Allende government, putting an end to the revolutionary
process that started in 1970. Here we republish two articles that analyse
the tragic history of the Chilean revolution and counter-revolution and a brief
commentary on the death of the ex-dictator, Augusto Pinochet.

situation.

We interviewed comrade Pepe Pereira, a leading
member of El Militante-Bolivia, the
Bolivian supporters of the International Marxist Tendency. Our first question
was about the recall referendum that will be held in Bolivia next week, on August 10th.

On hearing of the nationalisation
of Banco de Venezuela the World Congress of the International Marxist Tendency,
which was sitting at the time, immediately discussed this important measure
taken by the Venezuelan government and passed unanimously this resolution of
support.
