Alexander: Working people relying on stimulus checks, coins and lotto

http://www.votesocialist2008.org

Millions of working people are waking up to the harsh reality that the Bush stimulus package is not working and that the U.S. economy is already in a recession. Many economic indicators are revealing that the economy is in serious trouble. Just last week the U.S. Labor Department reported the lost of 49,000 jobs for the month of May, it was the highest lost of jobs since 1986; and as inflation continues to spread, the cost of energy and food will continue to weaken the U.S. economy.

http://www.marxist.com

The mood of the workers was
very militant and it is quite clear that they are willing to remain on the

Labour's Meltdown quickens – A return to the 1970s for British Workers?

http://www.marxist.com

The political landscape in Britain is changing before our
very eyes. This morning’s prominent TV news is of the tanker drivers’ strike,
showing scenes of pickets with Red Flags turning away lorries at Shell

The end of 'the end of history'

http://www.marxist.com

In any historical period, the dominant ideas are those of the ruling
class. In 1989 the world was treated to the words of Francis Fukuyama,
who published an essay with the title 'The end of history?' His

meant that western liberal democracy had successfully established
itself as the ultimate and ideal form of government. Marxism lay totally discredited he declared, gloatingly.
